Lovingly restored with the help of the Farming in Protected Landscape (FiPL) Fund, The Barn has been developed into an educational space which is ideal for school visits, training courses, external events and private hire. Our beautiful barn, grounded in nature with its exposed beams is surrounded by the most stunning Lake District landscape and together with owners Sam and Claire provides a warm welcome, particularly in the cooler months with the roaring wood burner.
Being located on Gowbarrow Hall Farm, if you choose to host your event at The Barn there is ample parking available and you have the option to also add catering to your event using farm produce.
If you have an event you would like to host at The Barn we’d love to hear from you, please get in touch to discuss your requirements. Alternatively, if you are interested in attending events hosted at The Barn, please view the up and coming events listed below.
Discover the heritage and ecology of the fell ponies
Join equine experts Bonny Mealand and Emily Kieson in their 3-day immersive experience in the Lake District. This unique Learning Wild course, in collaboration with the Fell Heritage Trust, offers a rare opportunity to observe these beautiful, hardy and intelligent ponies in their natural environment while exploring their deep historical, cultural and ecological significance.
Through guided observation, discussion, and hands-on learning, we will explore how these ponies interact with their environment, each other, and humans, past and presents.
If you have an event you would like us to host please get in touch to discuss how we can help.
